Objective	The ambition of the IBANOE project is to develop new tools for monitoring and studying coastal ecosystem function by perfecting new biomarkers based on benthic invertebrates. It also involves contributing to the calibration of environmental records in the shells of invertebrates through better knowledge about the day/night calcification cycles. (Measurements of respiration and calcification taken in benthic chambers). The cruise objectives were 1) to take samples of invertebrates on sites with contrasting environments (gradients of anthropization), and then in a second phase 2) to deploy benthic chambers and subtidal sensors over 24 h cycles in order to measure the respiration and calcification of several invertebrates (queen scallops and trochus). Summary of measurements	-Samples of invertebrates (pectinids, trochus, ark clams, oysters) and bottom seawater on dives, along the gradients of anthropization from the coast to the barrier-reef for later analysis of muscles and valves. -Metabolism (respiration/calcification) measured in benthic chambers on Trochus niloticus to apprehend the day/night variations in their metabolism. Sensors were deployed to monitor variations in environmental parameters over 24h (temperature, oxygen, ph, salinity). Two 24h cycles performed (8 incubations for 1 hour per 24h cycle) with 4 to 8 chambers deployed per cycle. -For trochus whose shells were highly colonized by encrusting algae (calcareous algae and other epiphytes), carbon and oxygen fluxes were measured on empty shells (without animal) in order to correct the values of their gross respiration. -10 trochus snails were fitted with accelerometers to determine the species' rhythm of activity and movements and to establish measurements of metabolism by controlling the phases of rest and activity. -Metabolism measurements were also made in benthic chambers on branched corals (Acropora sp.) by comparing the oxygen fluxes (respiration/photosynthesis) with respect to irradiance with and without the addition of cobalt.
