Objective	Study of deposits and post-obduction tectonic movements of the western margin of New-Caledonia by acquiring high resolution multichannel seismic reflection profiles and dredging for rock samples. This project is related to local projects to characterize the post-obduction geology of New Caledonia (regolith project, project on characterization of Miocene formations at Népoui, Action Marges de Nouvelle-Calédonie project). The area of investigation corresponds to the western margin of New Caledonia in the New Caledonia Basin, going from east to west from the fringing reef to the deep basin and from north to south, from Koumac to Bouloupari.

Summary of measurements

-Multichannel seismic reflection surveys: 1,353km of profiles acquired along the spurs of the western margin of New Caledonia and parallel to the margin for the imaging of recent faults and the architecture of post-obduction sediments.
-14 rock dredge hauls were made in water depths between 1,500 and 1,000 m. 13 of them were successful for the mission's objectives.
-Some specimens of benthic organisms, particularly fixed corals (cold water corals?) could interest the biology community.
