Objective An ecosystem-based approach to sustainable management of fisheries resources. Constructing time-series of abundance indexes for the main commercial species in the North Sea and Eastern English Channel. (Assessment of main commercial fish stocks). Larval index calculated for herring and sprat. Characterization of winter spawning zones and habitats in the North Sea. Study of benthic invertebrate assemblages based on observations obtained using bottom trawl. Studying hydrological, phytoplankton and zooplankton compartments. Recording of acoustic data to improve the calculation of abundance indexes. Observation of seabirds and marine mammals. The cruise is related to the following project: International Bottom Trawl Survey programme - Assessments of fisheries under EU management.
