Objective This is part of the general international PIRATA programme. Since it is the 22nd French cruise of this type, it is called PIRATA-FR22. The previous PIRATA-FR21 cruise was conducted in May/June 2011, making it possible to replace 5 Pirata buoys located in the Gulf of Guinea. The cruise's objectives were: 1) to replace 5 Pirata buoys located in the Gulf of Guinea; 2) perform 5 CTD hydrology legs; 3) deploy 5 SVPBS drifting buoys and 8 APEX profiling floats (CORIOLIS); 4) replace the current meter mooring at 0°N-10°W. The related project is SO PIRATA (SOERE CTDO2). Cruise in 3 legs, with chief scientists: B. Bourlès leg 1, J. Grelet legs 2 and 3.
