Objective	PECH 10 carries on from PECH 1 to 6 (2006 to 2008), PECH 8 (August 2010) and PECH9 (February 2011) in supplying a long-term database of physical-chemical, biogeochemical and faunal parameters for benthic and plankton environments along a bathymetric leg, on the Landes plateau (Bay of Biscay). The data are broken down into two parts: (1) Physical-chemical and biogeochemical measurements in the water column; inventory of plankton foraminifera fauna; and (2) Biogeochemical parameters measured at the water-sediment interface; inventory of benthic foraminifera. The cruise is related to the STEEPL observation service (temporal monitoring of benthic and plankton ecosystems of the Plateau des Landes with funding from OSUNA (Observatory of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Nantes Angers).

Summary of measurements

-Closing plankton nets. -Samples were treated with alcohol and Rose Bengal in order to study the plankton foraminifera fauna.
- with 9 fishing intervals on stations WH and A: 0-20m; 20- 40m; 40-60m; 60-80m; 80-100m; 100-200m; 200-300m; 300-500m; 500-700m.
- with 8 fishing intervals on stations B and K: 0-20 m; 20-40 m; 40-60 m; 60-80 m; 80-100 m; 100-200 m; 200-300 m; 300-500 m.
- with 6 fishing intervals at station FP15: 0-20m; 20- 40m; 40-60m; 60-80m; 80-100m; 100-200m.
- with 5 fishing intervals at stations D and G: 0-20 m; 20- 40 m; 40-60 m; 60-80 m; 80-100 m.
-CTD-oxymeter-fluorimeter profile on each one of 7 stations (WH, A, B, D, FP15, G and K).
-Water samples taken in 12 bottle rosette at each of the 7 stations (WH, A, B, D, FP15, G and K) to measure chlorophyll, 18O and 13C and nutrients.
-Retrieval of 2 sediment trap lines equipped with current meters: station WH at depths of 800 and 1,700m, station A at 800m in depth.
