Objective The main objective was to better characterize benthic habitats by performing a series of rectangular boxes combining sidescan sonar profiles, grab samples and video filming using a ROV from the original meridian and across the entire English Channel. This cruise is the second part of a two-year long project. In 2010, we took coverage of the eastern basin of the Channel and the western part of the western basin. The rest of the western basin of the Channel was covered by this second cruise in 2011. The related projects are INTERREG IVA and CHARM 3.
