Objective Assessment of chemical contamination in coastal water bodies on Turkish shores using artificial stations of mussels. The MYTITURK cruise's objective was to use the RINBIO network's methodology. Experiments conducted in the French Mediterranean since 1996 by IFREMER were extended to the East Mediterranean coast on the basis of a standardized protocol. This complements the MYTILOS, MYTIMED, MYTIAD and MYTIOR cruises. The cruise data will supplement those obtained between 2004 and 2010. The long-term objective is to obtain an assessment of the contamination of the Mediterranean basin. In addition, results will be used to complement the chemical contamination assessment performed in the framework of MEDPOL programs. This falls under the ODE/LER/OAPEM project.
