Objective

Deep structure of the passive Atlantic margin of Morocco. One of the objectives was to perform imaging of the sedimentary structure by using a large multichannel seismic system on several profiles along the margin. Another aim was to acquire a combined multichannel and wide-angle seismic profile with an existing profile off Canada. Logging the magnetic anomalies along these seismic profiles was important in order to determine their origin (underplating or volcanism). In addition, a few bathymetric profiles were planned in order to determine the structuring of the seafloor, as well as a few interface core samples to analyze how the basin developed.
