Objective | The aim is to identify and analyze distribution trends for juvenile sole (Solea solea) in nurseries in the Pertuis charentais area, over a period of years. All of the common sole caught were measured and weighed and otolith samples were taken in the laboratory. Fish by-catches were also kept. The sector actually covered by the systematic sampling as planned (approximately 50 points per strait) corresponds to soft sediment zones without crepidula present, estimated to be favourable zones for sole. Nearly fifty points were distributed regularly over each of the pertuis straits following a grid of 2,500 m on longitude and 2,000 m on latitude. This cruise took place on a professional fishing vessel called the Phénix (LR 726743) and an Ifremer launch (Leo). The related project is GEREPECH. |
