| Objective | We wished to optimize a method for evaluating the impact of towed fishing gear, particularly trawls, on the benthos. The goal was to evaluate the physical impact of a particular model of door shoe plates. For this cruise, two types of sediments were studied (mud from the bay of Brest at the beginning of the cruise and sand from the bay of Douarnenez, according to progression and the time remaining). Divers were to take benthic samples inside and outside of the tracks left by the trawl door's shoe plates. This project fell under the CPER project on currents. |
