Objective Ecological study of coastal nurseries in the Bay of Biscay: abundance and the quality of benthic and demersal fish juveniles (targeted species: common sole, Solea solea L.), biological and ecotoxicological indicateurs, relationship with the physical parameters of the habitats (bathymetry, sediments, hydrology) and with associated epibenthic populations (trawls for observing invertebrates). Special study of the effects of pollution from the Erika oil spill on sole biology. Technological tests: effects of the weight of the beam trawler on efficiency (flat fish and total catch). This cruise fell under the PNEC project, Bay of Biscay worksite and the HANOUR (nursery habitat) project.
