Objective	This cruise was part of the initial phase of the PNEC project, Bay of Biscay worksite. It was devoted to the study of the hydrological structure of the northern part of the bay which is subjected to the high outflow from the Loire River at the end of winter. The cruise was a necessary prerequisite for the study of the dynamics (assimilation, regeneration) of nitrogen and phosphorus in the water column planned for 2002 that federated 3 research groups: CREMA/L'Houmeau, IFREMER and UBO-IUEM. This cruise fell under the PNEC-Atlantic project.
