Objective

Mapping using the EM300 and chirp data and Kullenberg cores from several sites for the European COSTA (COntinental Slope STAbility)program. Area around Nice airport. Gulf of Lion: debris flow initiation zone of the Rhone River submarine fan and transition to the megaturbidite of the Balearic abyssal plain. Ebro margin. Given the difficulties encountered due to adverse weather conditions, work was conducted in the Nice airport area and only partially in the Gulf of Lion. None of the planned studies could be carried out on the Ebro margin. EM300 surveys were carried out at the head of the Cassidaigne canyon and on the Frejus-Cannes slope in substitution. The cruise was part of the project on sedimentary environments and the European Project COSTA (5th FP).
