Objective | The central theme of the POMME program is the study of the influence of mesoscale processes on the formation of the water masses in the main thermocline in the North-East Atlantic. Once formed, these water masses are not subjected to atmospheric influence for several years, or even several decades. This study involved not only the physical characteristics of these water masses but also their chemical and biological properties. |
