Objective The SEDYMAQ mission's objective was to collect new geophysical and sedimentology data on the study sites of the Aquitaine shelf where surveys were made regularly in the 1980s and 90s. Through a comparative analysis of data from the different periods, the main objective of the SEDYMAQ programme is to evaluate the decennial trend of sedimentary figures and establish a sediment budget on the scale of the study site areas over the periods examined. Whereas the SEDYMAQ1 (2008) mission enabled the sites on the middle and outer parts of the shelf to be revisited (at depths between 70 and 120m), the SEDYMAQ2 mission focused on mosaics on the inner shelf area (seabeds between 10 and 40m deep) and the closest part of the Capbreton canyon (depths between 10 and 300 m). The related project is Action Marges (CNRS-INSU).
