Objective The expected outcomes are: - validation of the winding quality of the synthetic cable, - qualification of the Penfeld tool on seabeds deeper than 2,500 m, - qualification for use of synthetic cable with the corer, - qualification for use of synthetic cable with the Penfeld penetrator, - ad hoc training for Genavir staff in using the coring tools, - improving our knowledge about the sampling process using stationary piston corer. The following order does not reflect the priority given to objectives. Station positions were: Station 1: N45°50'-W07°55' trench at 4,800 metres/ Station 2: N47°27'-W08°27' Meriadzek at 2,200 metres/ Station 3: N47°15'-W07°38' Guilcher canyon at 4,000 metres/ Station 4: N47°15'-W05°50' continental shelf at 300-1,000 metres/ Station 5: N47°46'-W04°25' in shallow water 80 metres deep.
