Objective Estimation of pelagic fish abundance in coastal waters of southern Europe using echo integration. Mapping of the area of distribution. CUFES continuous underway recording to estimate egg abundance. Pairovet used to calibrate CUFES recordings and conventional station measurements. Estimation of size-fractioned plankton biomass (CHN method). Studying oceanographic and meteorological conditions and how they are related to distribution and abundance of adult pelagic fish and eggs. Hydrology: Characterization the thermohaline properties of continental shelf waters. Measuring vertical profiles of temperature, salinity and fluorescence and surface data acquisition (TSG, fluorescence and meteorology). Plankton: Determining taxonomic diversity and biomass distribution patterns in different size classes of plankton (phytoplankton and zooplankton) in the study area. Mapping the abundance of predators.
