Objective Estimating the primary production. Optical characterization of waters. Quantification of biomasses and study of plankton communities. Particulate matter exported. CO2 exchanges at the Ocean-Atmosphere interface. Acquisition of basic parameters. This cruise was performed in the framework of the EPOPE (Etude des Processus dans l'Ocean Pacifique Equatorial) programme, of the French national "Programme Flux Oceaniques" (France-JGOFS) and the international "Joint Global Ocean Flux Study" programme (SCOR-IGBP).
